Macbeth — The Essential Comic Edition
Ambition, prophecy and a dangerously persuasive inner voice. Shakespeare’s essential tragedy in 48 illustrated panels, with confessional asides, absurd modern details and four original quotations.
Macbeth has a prediction, a plan and an explanation for everything. His private asides invite you into the joke as ambition turns into violence, suspicion and fear. The absurd details never spare him the consequences.

What this adaptation preserves
The witches’ predictions, Duncan’s murder, Banquo’s death and ghost, the second prophecies, Macduff’s loss, Lady Macbeth’s collapse, Birnam Wood, the final confrontation and Malcolm’s succession. Agency, ambition, guilt and self-justification remain central.
Historical theatrical dress and dramatic settings share the panels with deliberately absurd modern objects. This is a condensed comic adaptation, not the full unabridged play. Secondary speeches and events are compressed.
